Dish KO is a blind dish-duel app — users post a dish photo, which is then matched against another user's dish in a 1v1 duel. Voters pick a winner without seeing either poster's handle. Rankings are Elo-weighted so a scrappy home cook knocking down a Michelin chef actually moves the board.
There are no ads, no promoted posts, no verified badges, no follower-count leverage. The only way up the leaderboard is to cook something people pick more often. The weekly title resets every Sunday so holding the belt requires holding form, not inertia.
Made by 1971 Hook, a boutique product studio building things that respect craft — food, software, and the people who make them. Dish KO is their fourth product. Free on iOS. Android + web interactivity in progress.
"Social media rewards photography. Dish KO rewards whether the food is actually good. That's the gap we close."
"Blind voting, Elo-weighted, no follower counts. A grandmother's gravy against a Michelin-starred tasting plate — same bracket, same rules."
"The leaderboard isn't curated. Nothing is promoted. There are no ads. You climb by cooking better."
"The weekly title resets every Sunday. Belt holders hold on form, not inertia."
